Proper Answering Techniques

When presenting your solution to a question that requires Math:

1) State the LAW that you are using, eg

By the Law of Conservation of Energy

2) State the equations, eg
Loss in PE = Gain in KE
mgh = (1/2)mv^2

3) Remember to substitute the relevant values into your equation in (2) before giving the final answer

Things to note:
More often than naught, marks are allocated based on (a)correct substitution (b)correct final answer.

Very often (a) cannot be done without first stating the equations (2).
Imagine if you skip step (2) to go directly to (3)
If there is a mistake in you final answer, it would be very difficult to check where all your numbers came from, hence you would lose the mark allocated for (a) as well as (b).

Remember that Presentation is very important!
